The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel

The action of today's story takes place in the 1888th year. Holmes had not yet met with Professor Moriarty and did not solve the mystery of the dancing little men, but he had already earned the recognition and respect of Scotland Yard, where from November morning he received an interesting letter. The other day, the actress of the Regent Theater was found with her throat slit in the alley right at the back door. Two things make this case interesting: the first is a crime weapon, similar to a jagged scalpel, and the second is that the elusive Ripper, mainly specializing in fallen women and having a similar style of work, is operating in London.

Case of the Serrated Scalpel - a paradise for fans to search for pixels on the screen. And this is not a reproach to the game: what kind of investigation does without a thorough search for evidence? In the first location - the residence of the detective on Baker Street - there will be a lot of places, when pointing at which the tail-outs manipulator will excite from delight. What to say about the crime scenes, where Holmes and Watson will have to find something that has escaped the eyes of vigilant investigators (I must say that there are many obscene details that are deprived of inspector Lestrad's eyes).

In search of evidence, the heroes get there ... where they should get. A marked cigarette butt will take them to the tobacco shop, part of the football outfit to the appropriate stadium, and a couple of tickets to the opera - none other than to the opera house. The game is logical, which is shocking at first, but when you get used to it, over time 95% of other adventure games start to shock.

Most of the information inseparable couple absorbs from communicating with other characters. It is noteworthy that in each new location you can consult with Watson and listen to his often useful opinion. The dialogues are witty and informative, but at the same time the head does not swell on the amount of text on the screen. You can find your own approach to each person: someone will share information for a kind word, someone will be able to buy, and someone will use the famous Baker Street detective technique that forced gentlemen in the room as if on command to drop cigars from their mouths.

But not only talking live private detectives. There are a lot of items in the inventory all the time, and all of them can be used with some sense, another thing is that some non-linearity of Case of the Serrated Scalpel makes finding many unnecessary things. In the room laboratory of Sherlock, you can analyze the objects found, carry out chemical experiments with evidence, or look for the truth in the small-scale scope.

Deduction again helps Holmes to uncover mysterious crimes, surprise Dr. Watson and fool Inspector Lestrade.
